Photo Diary: Fashion & Shopping in Toronto
Hey guys! I got home from Toronto last night, where I spent my 4th of July week! (Whoops, sorry America). Despite the somewhat oppressive heat, I loved the city, what with its many castle-esque brick buildings and plenty of quaint neighborhoods, and naturally while I was there I thought I'd explore what it had to offer in the way of fashion and shopping.
The biggest gems I found: A store called Original on Queen, where everything is an explosion of color, pink, and girliness, and where there's enough Irregular Choice and Jeffrey Campbell to break a hundred fashionista hearts, and of course the Bata Shoe Museum, where one can behold the history of footwear as we know it - Elton John's famous platforms and all. Remix Clothing on Queen was also insane, what with giant architectural shoes by Finsk, pleather hoods and spiked everything. Hyperventilation occurred.
Also noteworthy: Queen Street in general, which is a bit like Melrose and home to a whole lot of places to shop, including H&M & Urban Outfitters, a goth shop or two, and the odd boutique selling surprisingly fabulous dresses and tops for under $25. Kensington Market, an area rife with vintage shops, is where to go for vintage and lovely hats, and it was here I happened upon a lolita/cosplay shop where I bought a pastel heart-shaped purse and a schoolgirl outfit (obviously).
Check out the photos below! Have you ever been to Toronto??
